Ask any Filipino over the age of 20 if they've played Pusoy and the answer is almost always yes. It's the kind of game that shows up at every barkada hangout, every family reunion, every long ride home from the province. Pusoy — also known as Pusoy Dos in some regions — is woven into Philippine social life the way merienda is woven into the afternoon routine.
At Swert99, we took that familiarity and moved it online without losing what makes it special. The same competitive tension, the same satisfaction of laying down a clean straight flush, the same pressure of holding a weak hand and deciding whether to bluff or fold — it's all here, with real peso bets and real players who actually know how to play.
Whether you grew up playing the version where you split 13 cards into three groups, or the faster Pusoy Dos variant where the goal is to offload your cards before everyone else, Swert99 has the format for you. Multiple table types, adjustable stakes, and a round-the-clock active player pool mean you're never stuck waiting long for a game to fill up.
New to the game or just need a refresher? Here's how Pusoy Dos and classic Pusoy play out at Swert99.
A standard 52-card deck is used. In Pusoy Dos, 13 cards are dealt to each of the four players. In classic Pusoy (Chinese Poker variant), players receive 13 cards and arrange them into three hands — back (5), middle (5), and front (3).
The player holding the 3 of clubs goes first. Players take turns playing higher combinations — singles, pairs, three of a kind, five-card hands. If you can't beat the current play or choose to pass, you sit out until the next round opens.
The first player to get rid of all 13 cards wins the round. In Pusoy Dos, players count remaining cards and pay penalties based on cards left in hand — heavier penalties apply if you're holding 10+ cards or double cards (4 of a kind or a straight flush).
Twos are the highest-value single cards in Pusoy Dos. The 2 of spades is the most powerful single card in the deck. If you're holding multiple twos, you have serious firepower — but timing when to play them is everything.
Straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kind, and straight flushes are playable five-card hands. These can only be played when the current play on the table is also a five-card hand — you can't drop a straight to beat a pair.
At Swert99, pots are accumulated based on the table's buy-in level and penalty system. Winnings are credited to your account instantly and can be withdrawn to GCash, Maya, or any supported Philippine bank.
Know your hands cold. In Pusoy Dos, five-card hands are ranked in this order:
Five consecutive cards of the same suit. Highest possible five-card hand.
Four cards of the same rank plus any fifth card. Beats full house and below.
Three of a kind combined with a pair. Ranked by the three-of-a-kind component.
Five cards of the same suit in any order. Ranked by highest card in the flush.
Five consecutive cards of mixed suits. Ace can be high or low depending on variant.
Three cards of the same rank. Useful when clearing the board as a solo play.
Two different pairs in one hand of five. Only playable as a five-card combination.
Two cards of the same rank. Beats single cards but loses to three of a kind and above.
Good Pusoy players don't just rely on luck. Knowing when to play aggressively, when to hold back, and how to read the board can make a real difference in how often you cash out at Swert99.
Twos are your best weapons but also your most tempting mistake. Don't blow all four early in the game. Save at least one for when someone else is about to go out — a well-timed single 2 of spades can stall a winning player and flip the table.
If your hand starts with low singles — 3s, 4s, 5s — throw them out early while the other players are still holding full hands. Getting rid of weak cards clears your pipeline for the stronger combinations you'll use to dominate mid-game.
Pay attention to what other players are throwing. If someone plays a lot of low singles early, they might be sitting on strong pairs or a flush. If they're breaking up potential combos to play pairs, they could be running out of singles to follow up with.
Building toward a flush sounds great in theory but it means you might be holding five cards you can't play individually. If the game is moving fast and players are playing singles or pairs, you could end the round with a beautiful flush still in your hand and a heavy penalty to pay.
Passing a round isn't always weakness — it's sometimes the right move. If the current play is about to turn over anyway, sitting out for one round costs you nothing. Save your combinations for rounds you can actually win or where passing would hurt more.

One thing Swert99 gets right that a lot of other platforms miss is that Filipino card game players aren't just looking for a place to gamble — they're looking for a place to compete. Pusoy has always been a game of skill mixed with luck, and the players who take it seriously want to know they're in a fair environment where their strategy and reading ability actually matter.
Swert99 delivers that. The player pool is made up of real Filipinos across all skill levels, from casual barkers who play for entertainment to grinders who track their win rates seriously. You'll find beginner-friendly tables where stakes are low and the pace is relaxed, and you'll find premium tables where experienced players play hard and the pots reflect it.
The platform also makes it very easy to switch between game types without losing your session. Finished a Pusoy Dos match and want to try the tournament bracket? One click. Want to jump into a Speed Pusoy table for a quick round during lunch break? Just as easy. Swert99 is built around the reality that Filipino players live busy lives and want gaming that fits around their schedule — not the other way around.
For Pusoy tournaments specifically, Swert99 runs structured weekly events where all registered players compete from the same starting stack, leveling the playing field. The prize pool is always posted before the tournament starts, so you know exactly what you're playing for. Payouts go to the top three finishers and are processed immediately after the final hand — no waiting, no delays.
Customer support at Swert99 is available 24/7 in both English and Tagalog — which matters when you're mid-session at 2am and run into a question about a table ruling or a payout query. The support team knows the games well enough to actually help, not just redirect you to a FAQ page.
Bottom line: if Pusoy is your game, Swert99 is where you want to be playing it in the Philippines right now.
